But on the real, everyone needs to read Crazy Love by Francis Chan.

How do you know God is speaking to you?

Usually it’s something that sucks to hear. CONVICTED.

Sh*tuff Christian Girls Say

I’m sorry, this is FREAKING hilarious. “Where’s my Samson to tear down the pillars of my loneliness?”

It’s a no-makeup, let-the-lion’s-mane-roar, leggings-as-pants, tucked into Uggs, big sweatshirt kind of day.

Ancient Skies - Michael Gungor

We, as women of Christ, are called.

Sometimes I find it difficult to remember on a day to day basis what I’m called to do. Yes, I’m called to be Christ’s hands and feet. But what does that exactly look like on a day to day basis, for a Christian young woman?

Here are a couple of things I believe we, as young women, are called to do regardless of your marital status.

  • We are called to love and be loved on. We, as women, are called to expand our horizons for love. We are called to love even when it hurts, and even when it’s not convenient. Give out compliments like they’re free, because they are. Going out of your way to love people doesn’t just happen. Intentionally love those who persecute you. Extend your arm to those in need, the poor, and the spiritually dead. Be open and susceptible to those who need your help and encouragement. Pray for those who tick you off. Deepen your relationships with those people you’ve only scratched the surface with. Proverbs 31:20
  • Become a living example. More so than ever, the world NEEDS examples of what a godly, worshipful woman of Christ looks like. Do not be rude, condescending, or discouraging. Only speak life-giving words. Do not allow foul or offending language to pass your lips. Encourage others, lift them up. Allow your spirit to be transformed into one of unfading gentleness and warm beauty, and let go of your old, attention-seeking ways. 1 Peter 3:3-5
  • Fellowship. Allow yourself to take part in deeply rooted friendships with godly women and men. Proverbs 27:17
  • Learn how to take care of and tend a household. How can you expect God to bring a future spouse into your life so far before you are ready? I truly believe this is why teenage years exist; not a girl, not yet a woman. Shadow your mother. Learn how to cook a meal or two. Keep your room and bathroom clean and orderly. Do your laundry and keep up with daily household chores. Remember our God is a God of order! Do not allow your life to become chaotic. Lean on Him for energy and motivation. Proverbs 31:13, 15, 17, 27 & 1 Timothy 3:5
  • Take care of your personal appearance. Go to the gym. Eat wholesome food. Do not make your stomach your God. Keep your body in good condition. Of course it’s not necessary to wear makeup, but keep your appearance tidy. Take care of your hair, skin, and nails. Wear clothes that flatter your body and at the same time exemplify Christ. 1 Corinthians 6:19-20
  • Pray and draw close to God. Pray - pray in thanks, pray for people, pray just to hear God’s voice. Just pray! God is our Father, not a genie. You must not only speak with Him when you want something. James 5:16
  • Excel in those areas in which you are called to serve. Serve with a willing and open heart abandoned toward God’s will. Serving keeps you grounded and planted in a church. It also helps you realize life is not about YOU, but rather about Him. Ephesians 6:7
  • Breathe in His love, exhale your worldly desires. Realize God cares about every area of your life FAR more than you do, and you are more than taken care of when you leave your entire life in His hands. Once you stop indulging your flesh, which is in my opinion one of the hardest battles of all, crazy ridiculous doors will open. Your flesh blocks your spirit from truly flourishing! Allow yourself to take true delight in Jesus and find joy, peace, and strength within Him. Everything will fall into place. That’s His promise to us. Psalm 37:4

Obviously, this is simply my opinion of what we, as young women of Christ, are called to do. This is certainly not close to all we are called to do, because no one can fit God’s plan for their life in a box.

I really recommend these workouts. They’re short so you can mix and match them but they’re definitely effective and you’ll definitely feel it. Most of the workouts have some kind of cardio component too, but I wouldn’t rely on these videos for all of your cardio!

Gonna go hop on the elliptical for 15 minutes!

She’s so unbelievably beautiful. Not just her outer appearance, her soul is beautiful. Everything she’s been through, all of her trials, her rehab, her eating disorders, BPD… All the work she does now to help girls going through what she’s been through… she’s beautiful. Her heart radiates beauty.
